Dead Man Down

So this was at the dollar theater and we took a chance and what do you know, good stuff, very surprising. Not surprising that Colin Ferrell and Naomi Rapace were good in it, but surprising that the whole thing didn't fall apart or into total cliche-ville. And this time the bad guys are Albanian and Hungarian mob types.
Although I have a suspicion that this was filmed elsewhere. 30 minutes in and I had yet to see any type of landmark signifying where this all was taking place. Eventually, the Chrysler building peeks out in the far distance, but was it real or CGI? So I go look it up in imdb.com and yeah, they filmed in NY. Did they have a low budget for outdoor shooting? Very strange. But solid action film.
