Yeah, we have White Walkers, yo. But only a glimpse. Can't give away too much. The finale seemed to speed things along at a much quicker pace than really the rest of Season 2 put together. This season gave us more characters we didn't know and could never quite figure out other than they were all at war, or all planning to be at war real soon. We started out with a really unlikable character, some woman who harnesses fire and speaks in the ear of power to what ends we're not sure. She really didn't seem to help much at the end of the day.
I have to admit, one of my fav new characters, the mysterious guy who carries out Arya's demands and then turns into somebody else at the very last frame. Another character we may not see again? Jason Mamoa came back for a short little sequence, too short for me. Can't he come back from dead for season 3, maybe? Of course the best bit was saved for last, the army of white walkers who look like snow zombies to me. This would be a different caliber of zombie from say, Walking Dead. But hey, there's room in heaven and hell for all kinds of zombies. Never get tired of zombies. Especially when they're so pretty. Season 3 may take place completely in the northern regions. Everybody seems to be headed that way. Not as many deaths of main characters this season. Almost disappointed. Would have preferred to have seen the last of Joffrey, but now that his grandfather is back from the battle (battle? what battle? blink and you'll miss it) maybe he'll take over and send the little would-be king some place dangerous. This is a universe of absolutes. Good is good, bad is bad. You'd think that would make me feel safe, but I know better. GofT, give us more complicated characters please. We can handle it. otoh, might be against genre rules. Seems important to always know who to root for. I'm rooting for the white walkers. They're pretty.
