So, the show that dared to put white boys killing zombies on tv is back for another splat. Apparently we all just can't get enough of seeing the walking dead get one between the eyes. *sigh* When this first came on, I marveled at how something so over the top violent was being shown on "regular" tv. So, we're on AMC here. It's not regular network tv and it has all sorts of warnings up front. This second season gave us a pretty good indication of how this show is going to go. Our sturdy band of survivalists continue on in their rag-tag way looking for other survivors until one by one they get picked off by the dead guys. Seems inevitable. If nothing more than this happens, which kind of indicates the show could go on forever, it will probably die a quick death due to lack of anything interesting happening. The only real human story line we have is the love triangle between the sheriff, his wive and the other deputy. That story is getting old fast too. The writers will make a mistake if they don't up the ante pretty fast, either give us some new human characters or have our existing group make some serious changes. They're starting to have the same type of arguements and it's beyond boring and predictable. Pretty soon I can see myself starting to root for the zombies. Now there's some motivated characters.Sunday, October 16, 2011
