Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

Perfectly respectable little horror film from Guillermo del Toro, despite the presence of Katie Holmes and not near enough of Guy Pearce, some cool little gremlins/fairies and a slight little twist on the usual. Not too many red herrings to get in the way. The girl in it though looks about 5 and it probably 17, very odd combination of chubby cheeks with a mature mode of delivery. Not always effective, but hey, it's a horror movie. My expectations were probably lowered.
