Larry Crowne

What can I tell you? Wasn't my turn to pick the movie. That, and we've seen literally everything else worth seeing and some not worth seeing. So it was either this or Transformers. And after swearing to never go to another Julia Roberts movie (Eat, Pray, Love, Gag me), PLUS swearing to never go to another Tom Hanks movie, sigh. It was as suspected: molecules of IQ drifting away from my brain as I sat there in a crowded (yes, the people enjoy this kind of crap) theater on the fourth of july. No surprises, other than a cute little black chick would ever look twice at Tom Hanks, let alone invite him to join her scooter gang. sigh. Everything was just too cute for words. Bryan Cranston had the most interesting role, but of course he walked in from some other movie where people have real problems, so he was there and then he was gone. Too bad. Oh yeah, and this was co-written and directed by Hanks as well. So G rated the "romance" between Roberts and Hanks is never believable at all. The star power alone must have cost a fortune. Now I must go and rewatch the first two years of The Wire to cleanse my palette. Blech.
