Despite the seemingly longevity of the series, years-wise, the past few years have really only been a couple of special episodes, not (at least the way they're presented on netflix) the 13 episode/year variety we have here.
So, for 15 seasons, David Jason plays Jack Frost, detective inspector extraordinare. What has baffled me is the suggestion that there is humor in these shows. The humor is so, well, under the covers, as to be almost non-existant.
Despite that, a guilty pleasure for sure. Very comforting actually to have all the bits and pieces neatly tied up at the end, understanding good and evil and whatnot. The attraction of these types of shows is like curling up with a hot chocolate and fuzzy blanket: you feel safe and sure that there are blokes out there like Jack Frost taking care of things. And even a few smart lady detectives in the mix as well. This series was fun to submerge into. Very consistent and predictable. Just how we like our detective shows.
